CBD oil for which dosage

CBD oil for what dosage: In a society that is increasingly liberalizing its opinions and legislation around cannabis, a veritable avalanche of derivative products is appearing. But if there's one star among the plethora of new choices available to consumers, it's CBD oil. Thanks to the scientific community, which is also riding the green wave, opinions and studies are pouring in on this new field. This has given rise to a number of new questions, such as the one addressed in this article: what is the optimal dosage of CBD oil?

But first, let's determine what the therapeutic benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) are.

How to use CBD oil?

As mentioned earlier, the liberalisation of CBD and the democratisation of studies surrounding it is a recent phenomenon. And even if the studies we will mention here show encouraging signs, let's remember that science is a slow process that requires the repetition of very codified experiments before showing conclusive results. The expertise of a health professional always takes precedence over anything else. It should also be noted that CBD oil is not currently classified as a medicine.

By the way, how does CBD work?

CBD acts on certain neurotransmitters, which gives it undeniable psychosomatic effects. In fact, according to a study by Professors Shannon and Opila-Lehman on the ability of CBD oil to stop problematic THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) use, it is our CB1 and CB2 neuroreceptors that benefit from CBD. In fact, sufficient amounts of this substance would act on our perception of pain and inflammation, while calming excessive neural activity; essentially contributing to stress and anxiety reduction.

A second study by Professors Shannon and Opila-Lehman also reveals CBD's anxiolytic and tranquilizing properties. In the case of a young patient who had been sexually abused and was suffering from post-traumatic stress, CBD oil helped reduce anxiety and restore restful sleep. All this was achieved in parallel with psychiatric treatment.

What are the scientific conclusions for the dosage of CBD oil?

Firstly, it should be noted that there is no ideal and universal dosage. Indeed, as each person is different and has a unique resistance to a particular substance, it is impossible to ensure that a dosage will work in the same way for everyone. We can, however, offer recommendations as to the dose of CBD oil that will have the optimum impact for your needs.

First, let's look at a study by Prof. Zuardi, conducted in collaboration with other doctors, which tested the anxiolytic effects of CBD. During this experiment, subjects were asked to speak in public after using varying amounts of Cannabidiol oil drops, a placebo or an anxiolytic drug. After examining the results, the study shows that out of the three dosages of CBD at 100, 300 and 900 milligrams, the 300 milligram dosage is the most effective. Moreover, the subjects who received this dose of CBD oil and those who consumed the anxiolytic drug demonstrated similar performance.

From this study, two things should be noted: the effects of CBD oil can be comparable to those of the standard anxiolytic found in shops, and an adequate dosage of Cannabidiol oil is essential for optimal use.

Secondly, a study on the effects of CBD on epilepsy in children recommended an average dosage of 11mg/kg. Thus, a child weighing 30 kilos would require 330mg of cannabidiol oil per day. It should be noted, however, that although almost 50% of the patients saw their epileptic seizures reduced by half, another part of the subjects experienced adverse effects.

The importance of choosing CBD oil

From these results, it is important to note the importance of the individuality of the subjects. Indeed, each person's brain chemistry is unique. This means that we are all likely to react differently to the substances we consume. And CBD oils are no exception in this department. Cannabis contains a very large number of active ingredients.

Tetrahybinole and Cannabidiol are among them. However, not all of them will appear in all hemp oils, or at least not in the same quantity. Since each component of cannabis has its own effect, it is even more important to pay attention to the quality of the oil before buying it. In this sense, the use of so-called full-spectrum CBD oils, which contain all the non-psychotropic cannabinoids on the market, can be a relevant solution.

CBD oil for what dosage?

Let's talk about the concrete dosage.

First of all, the amount of CBD present in the oil must be assessed:

Low concentration :

CBD Oil 3%: 1.5 mg of CBD per drop
CBD Oil 5%: 2.5 mg of CBD per drop

Average concentration :

CBD Oil 13%: 6.5 mg of CBD per drop
CBD Oil 20%: 10 mg CBD per drop

High concentration :

CBD Oil 32%: 16 mg of CBD per drop
CBD Oil 47%: 23.5 mg of CBD per drop

Then, depending on our weight, we can determine the average amount that seems appropriate. The example below is aimed at reducing pain:

Then, depending on our weight, we will determine how much CBD oil to use. Below is an example of a dosage for pain reduction:

In conclusion, it seems important to reiterate that in order to determine an adequate dosage of CBD oil for yourself, you should generally listen to your body. To do so, note the dose taken and the effects obtained each time.

There is no optimal dosage that will apply to everyone. Indeed, each case is different and thus requires its own experiences. The answers provided in this article will, however, serve as guidelines to help you find your way through the amount of information available.
